I will go through the five aggregates — they are the essential explanation of the human condition: Body, feeling, perception, and mental formations…in the elusive consciousness. I’d look at these as the description of our human condition.

Resting Into What Is Possible – A mini-retreat with four teachers over two days
Buddhist practice offers us the possibility of experiencing the expansive sense of satisfaction and joy that is waiting for us on the other side of suffering. Having this experience is not a question of fixing and doing. It is about resting into qualities of mind and heart that help develop and sustain a more open, lighter and connected way of living and being in relationship with others. This retreat will provide participants with an understanding of the psychology, meditation methods and daily practices which foster and support four special qualities of mind and heart. Friday will explore Letting Go/Forgiveness and Gratitude. Saturday will explore Loving Kindness and Equanimity. This two-day event will give SIM’s core faculty – Rich Howard, Diane Wilde and Dennis Warren – a rare opportunity to teach together. They will be joined on Saturday afternoon by Senior Teacher Kamala Masters by Zoom from Hawaii. Movement each day will be led by therapist and Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator Sam Halford. We encourage participation in both days of this special retreat. You have the option of attending just Friday or Saturday depending on your schedule.
Friday Retreat Overview
Friday, November 15, daylong session with Dennis Warren (Letting Go & Forgiveness) and Rich Howard (Gratitude). Movement with Sam Halford.
SIM teachers will present in-person at the Sacramento Dharma Center and Kamala Masters will present remotely via Zoom. Registered participants will attend in-person as the retreat won’t be available via Zoom attendance.
We encourage everyone to sign up for both days but you may register for a single day if needed.
Pre-registration is required and we recommend you pay the registration fee in advance using the registration ATTEND button shown below. Since your registration choice indicates which days you’ll be attending in-person, registering early helps us determine how many people the meditation room should accommodate.
After you’ve registered you may later offer a donation in gratitude of the teachings. Donations designated for Friday will go to Sacramento Insight Meditation. Donations designated for Saturday will be offered to Kamala Masters.
