October 8, 2015, 7 – 9pm. “Working with Fear and Anxiety” with Community Mentor Diane Wilde

Physical as well as mental fear is a discomforting presence. The fear of loss, the fear of physical pain, the fear of the unknown… are just a few of the multitude of fears and anxieties that we will experience in this lifetime. We continually look for a place of safety where fear is not present. Anything to gain and keep a sense of security and keep the reality of this impermanent world at bay. As Woody Allen said, “I don’t like to be afraid—it scares me.” Yet it is possible to learn and understand how fear manifests in our lives, and even begin to become comfortable with this challenging state of mind, both in everyday life and during meditation. Please join the discussion.

Valentin Mendez Rodriguez will be talking on Cultivating Compassion.

The Sacramento Green Sangha meets from 7-9pm on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Friends Meeting House on 57th Street. It is not lineage based and welcomes people from all Sacramento area sanghas and interested others.  The gathering begins with meditation. Various sangha members may offer considerations on how to cause less harm in our personal and global environments.  We also discuss how to influence our larger society regarding the importance of mindful living with care and respect for the earth and all her inhabitants. For information,  contacts currently  are SBMG’s Susan Orr,susanorr@mac.com/916-747-1573 or SIM’s Diane Wilde, dwilde09@yahoo.com/916-747-0800
