Insight Meditation and Dharma Talk with Visiting Teacher Tanya Wiser

TANYA WISER, LCSW, SEP is a queer-identified mother, therapist, and meditation teacher devoted to mindfulness, embodied wisdom, and the path of liberation. She teaches at the Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City and offers retreats grounded in attentive presence, receptive awareness, compassionate embodiment, and deep reciprocity with the natural world, guided by the question: “Is the heart open or closed?”
Her approach arises from lived experience of the Dharma and is informed by training in Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. Tanya’s teaching supports people in meeting life with greater wisdom, care, and compassion.
She was fully authorized to teach in 2025 by Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella after completing a four-year Vipassanā teacher training program through the Insight Retreat Center and the Insight Meditation Center.

Hybrid events can be attended via Zoom or onsite at the Sacramento Dharma Center.
