*Sit & Dharma Talk – Laura Rosenthal – What’s Working?

October 31, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:15 pm PDT

What’s Working?

Sit & Dharma Talk with SIM Community Member Laura Rosenthal

Buddhist practice emphasizes attention to the way our mental, verbal and physical actions lead us into and out of dukkha – sometimes translated as suffering or a sense of unsatisfactoriness. This experiential inquiry into “suffering and the end of suffering” supports us in cultivating wholesome qualities of mind and heart that help us wake up. But often, in undertaking this inquiry, we emphasize those actions that lead to suffering. We may overlook the things we are already doing or experiencing that lead away from suffering and toward peace and ease.

Join long-term practitioner and SIM participant Laura Rosenthal in a dharma talk and group conversation about “What’s Working.” We will focus on the way aspects of our lives and actions already support our waking up – and on what we can learn from looking at this. To encourage fluid group participation, this talk will not be recorded.

Sacramento Insight Meditation events are sustained by the generosity of instructors in offering teachings freely and on the generosity of students and members of the meditative community in the form of financial support, service and participation in events. With our practice of dana, we support our Sangha.
