Tranquility in Meditation, Practice and Life
Tranquility is a great vehicle for understanding the interconnected and interdependent nature of wholesome and skillful states of mind. It plays a vital role in the collaboration of concentration, tranquility, and equanimity, while providing a foundation for the arising of Right View. Its presence is woven throughout the teachings on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness and the 16 steps, or methods, of the Mindfulness of the Breathing.
This Thursday evening, we’ll explore these fundamentals of Tranquility, and reflect on its transformative potential. Together, we’ll consider an important question: how does Tranquility evolve from being simply a “state of mind” into a dhamma—a living reality and a doorway into the unfolding process of the Buddha’s path of liberation and awakening?
Whether you’re just beginning your practice, or have been on the path for years, you’ll find something helpful in this evening’s discussion.
We invite you to join us either in person or via ZOOM. Dennis will be presenting in person. He encourages you to be there in person, as well, to meet with old, as well as new, friends and enjoy an evening of community and investigation the Historical Buddha’s teachings.
