Young Persons Sangha

The Young Persons Sangha (YPS) is a bi-weekly meditation group for young adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s hosted by Sacramento Insight Meditation. The focus of our sangha (community) is to bring mindfulness into our daily lives, create deeper relationships with ourselves, and explore the Dharma (Buddhist philosophy/teachings). We welcome all new members whatever your starting point, religious beliefs, and are committed to creating a sangha that is welcoming to people of all identities.

Format: We gather for a 30-to-40-minute silent meditation followed by a check in, where we discuss our sitting practice or how life is going for us right now. After a 10-minute break, a peer leader may offer a short reading or dharma talk for discussion. We also occasionally host visiting meditation teachers as well.

Time: We meet every other week on Wednesdays from 7:00–8:30 pm. Our meetings are in person at the Sacramento Dharma Center at 3111 Wissemann Dr., Sacramento, CA 95826. For in-person attendance, doors will close at 7:10.

Cost: No charge, the group is entirely run on donations.
