DESCRIPTION:Daylong Retreat with Visiting Senior Teacher Greg Scharf\n\n\n\nAbout This Hybrid Retreat\n\n\n\nHybrid events can be attended via Zoom or in-person at the Sacramento Dharma Center. For this retreat\, the teacher will present on location.Pre-registration is required and we recommend you pay the registration fee in advance. This helps us determine how many people will attend and how many people the meditation room should accommodate.To pay now\, you’ll find at the bottom of this page registration ticket choices to attend via Zoom or attend onsite. This awareness allows us to open to and connect with the truth of each moment. \n\n\n\nAs we gain confidence in the mind’s ability to recognize this natural awareness we begin to release the burden of trying to control\, manipulate\, or fix experience so that it meets our ideas of the way it should be\, and relax into the truth of the way it actually is. \n\n\n\nWe start to see directly for ourselves what leads to well-being and freedom and what leads to suffering\, both in our own life and in the world around us. Through this process we begin to live our lives from a place of greater balance\, integrity\, confidence\, and connection. \n\n\n\nThe teacher might also lead an optional session of mindful movement – based on QiGong. \n\n\n\nGREG SCHARF\, an Insight Meditation Society guiding teacher\, has practiced with Western and Asian teachers in the Theravada tradition since 1992. He has been teaching residential retreats since 2007\, including the annual Three-Month Retreat at IMS. Greg’s love of nature and the outdoors deeply informs both his practice and teaching. \n\n\n\nSacramento Insight Meditation events are sustained by the generosity of instructors in offering teachings freely and on the generosity of students and members of the meditative community in the form of financial support\, service and participation in events. If you are able and interested in further supporting SIM financially\, you have the option of a registration fee of either $25 or $35 dollars. To pay the registration fee online\, specify if you plan to attend in-person or attend remotely via Zoom. In the “Tickets” section\, specify the number of people you are registering to this retreat and click the button “Get Tickets”.
